Think there is asbestos in your building? Don’t wait to get it tested!
Are you planning to renovate or are you in the process of purchasing a property that may contain asbestos-contaminated materials?
Several building materials can contain asbestos: drywall panels, wall joint compound, gypsum plaster, cement plaster, textured finishes (like stucco), brick mortar, insulation, duct sheaths (thermal insulation), flooring, acoustic tiles (suspended ceiling) and more.
It is therefore important to have these materials checked. Quebec regulations state that any material with an asbestos concentration of at least 0.1% is considered an asbestos-containing material and can be hazardous to health.
